What is Halva?

Halva is an exquisite, delicious, gluten-free dessert with a distinct texture and variety of flavors that make it a favorite around the globe.

Derived from the Arabic halwa, meaning sweet, halva is believed to have originated in the Middle East, somewhere between 3000 BC and 12th century AD. From there, it wove its sweet spell through the Mediterranean, Central Asia and the Subcontinent, where ingredients were swapped in and out, new ones added. Halva is at the same time crumbly and fluffy and comes in many fantastic flavors: chocolate, pistachio, signature eastern rose oil and many more. The variety of flavors and distinct texture make it a favorite across the globe and now in italy!

Are Sesames products manufactured in a shared facility with shared equipment where nuts are handled?

Sesames Premium Halva and Tahini are both manufactured in a facility in which tree nuts and peanuts are present.

How long does it take to get the order?

All orders are processed within 1-2 business days. We ship via priority mail that takes 1-3 business days.

How to serve Tahini?

How long is Sesames Tahini good for?

Sesames Tahini products have an 18-month expiration date from the day the tahini was pressed, but we recommend using the product up within the first 12 months.

What is Tahini?

Tahini is an Artisanal sesame paste, velvety smooth and delicious. The sesame seeds are roasted before they are pressed, packaged as soon as it is ground and served as a delicious tahina salt sauce. Sesame tahina is known as golden sesame paste or sesame butter for its rich and silky texture.

Tahini is a paste made from sesame seeds. It is commonly used in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisines, and is a versatile ingredient for savory and sweet dishes.

Is halva vegan?

Yes, naturally, halva is vegan. 65 % of halva is sesame. The rest is flavorings. We don't use honey (except ____)or eggs. If we use a flavor that contains dairy ( ex. Nutella), we write it in the product description.

Are halva and Tahini kosher?

Yes, all halva and Tahini are kosher. We are certified by Rabbinate of the city and the religious council of Ma'ale Adumim.

How to store halva?

One of the wonderful things about halva is that this healthy dessert has a long shelf life. Halva is made of sesame paste, and you can think of it a lot like peanut butter. Like peanut butter, halva can be stored safely at room temperature in the pantry for a month or more. Also like peanut butter, halva contains natural oils that will separate in warm temperatures. That's why we recommend to keep your halva in cool area to prevent oiliness and preserve its crumbly texture.

Where do you make the halva and tahini?

We source exclusively first-grade Ethiopian Humera sesame seeds, then transports it to Israel for custom roasting and ground into tahini paste. “Ethiopian seeds are known to be very sweet and have a higher ratio of oil to fibre. This creates a smoother, creamier texture and sweeter flavor tahini and halva.

We are using a slow and meticulous cooking process. The seeds are roasted over gas-powered flames (rather than conventional steam) following traditional methods. Next, the seeds are ground by the authentic process of grindstone. This method is 10 times slower than industrial grinding methods, producing an intense flavor unique to Sesames products.

Is halva gluten free?

Yes, halva is gluten free except for some flavors like Ferrero Rocher. If we use flavors that contain gluten, we write it in product description.

What size of halva to order for a party?

Our full halva “cake" is 7 lb and it serves 40-45 people. If you have a party of 20 people, we recommend 3.5 lb of halva. It will come as a slice that cut off of the whole cake.

How to serve halva?

The classic way to enjoy halva is to slices it to small strips and serve after meal as a light dessert next to a hot drink. Nowadays, there are no limits in creativity. How to store Tahini?

Depending on the preferred consistency, you can keep Sesames tahini either in the pantry for a smoother and more pourable texture. However, if you prefer a nut butter-like consistency, place Sesames tahini products in the fridge. Never place a wet or dirty spoon in the jar.
